These two vases are signed "MP Sévres" below the lids. Their shape, their decoration and their marmoreal blue color is typical of the work of Paul Milet, ceramist and son of Optat Milet porcelain maker from Sèvres, who from 1911, that is to say on the death of his father, asserted himself with his brand "MP Sèvres ".
Over the following years, the Sèvres Porcelain Manufacture, concerned about the possible confusion between each other's productions, asked the ceramist to change his brand, which he did by reversing the initials. This is how on October 4, 1930, he registered the “PM Sèvres” brand.
The marmoreal decoration gives the material the appearance of marble. In order to give a piece of porcelain a marmoreal decor, we work on a pattern of veining typical of marble to which we want it to resemble.
Very good state of conservation, note a small, almost invisible shock at the base of one of the vases and a professional restoration of the lids.
