"Small Mahogany Powder Table, Empire Style – 2nd Half Of The 19th Century"
Charming little octagonal piece of furniture in mahogany veneer, arranged in butterfly wings on the top. When opened, we discover an original octagonal mercury mirror, surrounded by shaped bronze rods. The inclined plane of the mirror allows you to look at it while standing. In addition, a storage space in mahogany burl is made up of 8 small lockers and a central one with a molded top. Under the belt forming a chest, we discover 8 vertical mahogany burl sides and a slightly grooved molding. The whole rests on 4 column feet decorated with chiseled bronze collars and capitals at the top. These four turned solid mahogany feet are supported by a base assembled by two elements connecting the four "ball" feet. This small functional table can be used as a pedestal table, powder table, dressing table or small storage unit. ******** Period: 2nd half of the 19th century Excellent condition after Restoration Finish: Waxed finish only Additional photos available by clicking on the following link: https://www.antiquites-lecomte.com/boutique/gueridons/petit-gueridon-poudreuse-style-empire-2eme-moitie-xixe Delivery possible, in France and internationally Dimensions: Width / Depth: 36.5 cm Height: 77.5 cm Ref: 864 M
