"Precious Wood Sideboard, Napoleon III Period - Mid-19th Century"
Napoleon III piece of furniture in marquetry and veneer of amboyna burl and rosewood. This piece of furniture has a central part with a projection with a door whose frame is in amboyna burl veneer. The interior part of the frame has a bronze molding in quarter-arch in the corners. A background inlaid with rosewood diamonds surrounds a black oval background highlighting a plant composition in light and stained wood representing birds, musical instruments and arrows, surrounded by flowers and foliage. This door has a high and low lock in working order, and an original bronze entry and key. The interior of this piece of furniture is in mahogany. We find adjustable shelves on racks. This piece of furniture benefits from rich bronze ornamentation. The upper part of the piece of furniture is decorated with large floral friezes and interlacing. The recessed uprights forming a pilaster are decorated with beautiful bronze falls depicting beautiful faces of caryatids. The base of this piece of furniture has a large chiseled bronze molding and rests on four spinning top feet dressed in brass at the front. This piece of furniture is topped with a white Carrara marble veined with gray and slightly embedded in a molding that goes around the edge of the piece of furniture. ********** Period: Mid-19th century Perfect condition after restoration in our workshop.
