Set of 3 silver cutlery (3 spoons and 3 forks) hallmarked with the Fermiers Généraux de Paris (date letter N = 1776), charge hallmark A crowned 1775-1781 and discharge gros oeuvre (ox's head), goldsmith's hallmark NC for Nicolas Collier*, chiseled coat of arms on the handle, from the 18th century. Crowned fleur-de-lys, two remedy grains, NC, a rooster. Nicolas Collier was born in Versailles in 1733. Guaranteed by the great spoonmaker Nicolas Martin Langlois, he was received as a master in 1766. Nicolas Collier became a specialist in "simple and robust" cutlery [Nocq] at the sign "Aux armes de Condé", rue Dauphine, where the paintings mention him until 1793.
