""la Farandole", Bas Relief In Art Deco Enameled Terracotta."
This "Farandole Arlésienne", from the Art Deco period, perfectly suggests the movement of this Provençal dance. The five dancers, schematized by terracotta 'bars', hold hands and their arms thus form a 'continuity' by a double 'sinusoid'. Their faces are turned to the right or left, while they dance on tiptoe. All these very danceable elements (only the sound of the tambourines and galoubets is absent!), strongly evoke the work of Léo Lelée (1872-1945): "the Painter of the Arlésiennes". Bas relief, with thick luminous enamel, in very good condition.
