Interesting carved lime wood elements, late 17th, early 18th century. This woodwork element forming a pediment is from the Baroque style, Louis XIV period, it was surely painted and gilded originally, The sculpture represents 3 winged angel heads, these cherubs with heads sculpted in high relief are surrounded by rays and clouds, hiding a pediment in an arc of a circle whose ends reveal a large molding sculpted with interlacing finished with acanthus crosslets. The sculpture is highlighted on a blackened wooden base and steel rod. The wood of the sculpture has been treated. This object comes from an old collection where it was kept for about forty years.
