Object description :

"Camel Headdress Uzbekistan 88 X 52 Cm"
Uzbekistan wool camel headdress, circa 1900. Rare. Good condition considering its age.
Dimensions flat and without pompoms: 87 x 52 cm

Authentic camel headdress (open) used as a ceremonial headdress on the occasion of important ceremonies such as weddings. Made of red wool felt* and decorated with embroidery (suzani**) with traditional patterns. Horsehair pompoms embellish this beautiful piece from another time.

*Wool felt: Felt is a textile made from wool fibers that intertwine thanks to heat, water and pressure.
**Suzani: which means "made with a needle", brings together very fine creations of embroidered fabrics, notably Shahsavan, but also Uzbek, made with great charm.
