"Jb Hello Swiss Painting Portrait Of Mr. Fégely d'Onnens Wearing The Order Of Saint Louis"
This delightful, gentle oil portrait is that of Monsieur de Fégely d'Onnens, known as de la couronne, a descendant of a great noble family from Fribourg. He is depicted with his faithful dog who looks at him lovingly. The painting is presented in the frame in which it was. This frame is old, from the time of the painting. On the back of this oil, executed on sheet metal, the mention of his name in Indian ink and several genealogical elements. Signed lower left "Bonjour" (pinxt) and dated 1837. Dimensions: 31 cm x 24.5 cm painting 42 cm x 35.5 cm with its frame Very beautiful portrait made by the great Swiss portrait painter Jean-Baptiste Bonjour (Le Landeron 1801 - 1881) who is notably referenced in Bénézit. Our artist, a student of Gabriel Lory, is one of the rare specialists in portraits in Neuchâtel in the first half of the 19th century. He works in Lausanne, Fribourg, Venice, Rome and Wiesbaden. He is the author of the paintings that are in the Catholic church of Landeron. Possibility to buy the painting alone without the frame for 380 euros. Good condition. Traces of old varnish. Light frame friction on the edge. The missing hearts in the lower part of the frame have been restored. Please note that I respond to all requests about my objects.
