Large black and yellow earthenware vase with incised decoration of two birds Signed under the base M Barbier Vallauris in hollow. This vase was made in the workshop of Hélène UGO in Vallauris. After studying at the School of Decorative Arts in Geneva under the direction of Philippe Lamberci, Michel Barbier worked in different workshops in Vallauris with Jean Derval, Gustave Reynaud and Hélène Hugo. From 1970 to 986 Michel Barbier held his workshop in Lully in Haute Savoie.
