"Directoire Mahogany Cooler, Early 19th Century."
Mahogany cooler (or wine table), used to keep the wine served at the right temperature at the table. The top, in 'cabaret', in grey 'Sainte Anne' marble, receives two zinc buckets which, containing ice, cooled the bottles of wine. It rests on four turned legs, connected by four wide crosspieces, one of which receives a small drawer. Two shelves, in 'cabaret', are also inserted into the base. The four legs end in 'spindles' fitted with small bronze sabots. Very good original condition. Dimensions of the buckets: internal diameter 14.5; height 14.5cm.
