Guy Buffet began his artistic career drawing on the tablecloths of his family's restaurant Buffet in post-war Paris. The carefree, childlike spirit always shines through in every canvas or watercolor. Buffet's playful compositions and colorful techniques are deceptively complex. This is the result of years of formal training at the best art schools in France. At the age of 14, Guy Buffet enrolled in the prestigious Beaux-Arts de Toulon and pursued advanced studies at the Académie de Peinture de la Ville de Paris. Son of, Jules César Buffet, his father loved to take "his son" for walks in the Montmartre district and show him famous places such as "La Coupole", the favorite restaurant of famous artists such as Modigliani, Picasso, Chagall, Braque and Foujita.
