"Important Oak Sideboard With Support Height, Louis XV Period, 18th Century"
Superb and imposing Louis XV period sideboard, mid-18th century. This beautiful piece of furniture is made of solid oak, carved and richly molded. It has two large drawers in the belt concealing a central drawer in the false frame decorated with a double daisy. The doors and sides are harmoniously shaped. The side rails, as well as the front rail, are very nicely fretted and molded. The front legs end with thick shells. The rear legs have elegant scrollwork carving. The rear grooves are very thick, a sign of very good quality furniture. This sideboard is in very good condition. The legs have old repairs, restorations and joints that are very well done. Traces of use on the top (see photos). A piece of furniture that is as robust as it is elegant, superbly patinated.
