Venetian school of the 17th century. Great oil on canvas artwork depicting a biblical episode, the sacrifice of Isaac. To test the faith of Abraham, a just and devout man, God orders him to sacrifice his own son. As he is about to carry out the divine will, an angel of the Lord descends to stop him and shows him a ram to sacrifice as a substitute. In fact, we see a splendid angel hovering in the air and while with one hand he blocks the patriarch's knife, with the other he points to a ram in the lower right. A painting of notable pictorial quality, particularly evident in the refinement of the chromatic palette and in the creation of the magnificent draperies that give dynamism to the composition. Painting already restored with relining, replacement of the frame and repainting of the color in small spots. Overall in excellent condition.
