"Oil On Copper Representing Saint Bernard, Tuscany From The Early 1600s."
Splendid copper oil painting depicting Saint Bernard in devotion. It is possible to refer this painting for stylistic and iconographic reasons to the devotional painting of Francesco Curradi (Florence 1570 - 1661), characterized by a style recognizable for the immediate effectiveness of the compositions, the accurate drawing and the softness of the chiaroscuro. A peculiarity of his painting is the immersion of the sacred figures represented in skies characterized by cerulean chromatism with pink and purple tones, taken from the works of painters between the counter-reformation and the first developments of the Tuscan Baroque such as Iacopo da Empoli, Passignano, Matteo Rosselli to highlight the dreamlike essence of the sacred depiction.
The measurements of the painting including the antique frame are: 34cm height x 27cm.
