Mahogany Writing Desk, Return From Egypt Period – Early 19th Century

This writing dressing table opens at the waist with a drawer fitted with a functional lock with inlaid entry and key. Inside, this drawer is equipped with a sliding shelf covered in green leather with cold and gold vignette. The set is accompanied by three lockers, one of which contains a brass container. The uprights rest on a concave base on the front ending with feet, in blackened wood, claws at the front and turned at the back. The upper part, darkened with a mercury mirror, is composed of two pilasters supporting a Belgian small granite marble which has undergone a slight later restoration.
