"Burl Walnut Bookcase, Restoration Period – Early 19th Century"
This bookcase, in burr walnut, opens with two three-quarter glazed doors with double-molded bars, vertical wooden panels in the lower part and chamfered interior perimeter. These doors, with joint cover, are fitted with an authentic functional lock with wooden entries and original key. The interior offers four shelves mounted on racks. The double-molded uprights are dressed with carved consoles decorated with acanthus leaves. The whole rests on a plinth ending with turned feet in blackened wood. The ogee cornice is highlighted by a frieze of gadrooned motifs. Very decorative, this bookcase stands out for the quality of its wood and its size. ******** Period: Early 19th century Excellent condition.
