"Louis XV Sloping Desk, Provence 18th Century, In Walnut."
Sloping desk (or "donkey's back" desk) opening with two drawers with 'reserves' and their bronze fittings. The flap, fretwork, is fitted with metal compasses and a black desk pad (replaced). It opens onto an interior fitted with drawers, boxes and a 'trapdoor' with a retractable opening. The sides have a fretwork panel and the three crosspieces are animated. It rests on four arched legs and the front corners, with grooves, are rounded. Beautiful 18th century regional work in very good original condition (one board on the back restored).
