Object description :

"Margot Saint-amand Service End Of 19th Century "
Exceptional service called Margot from the Ammandinoise company created around 1880. It is made of "terre de fer", fine earthenware enriched with feldspar intended to make it more resistant. The Margot decoration is very rich. Each plate or dish has a scalloped edge which precisely delimits the piece. The central decoration has three different motifs. The largest of them is composed of an interlacing of flowers and foliage. It is well wedged on the bottom on the left and overflows onto the rim. The other two, smaller ones, are also made up of flowers and foliage. One is placed on the bottom and rises on the buttress, the other is straddling the buttress and the rim. This immutable arrangement, except for the soup tureen, ensures a very beautiful balance of the decoration. Each piece is covered with the stamp of the Ammandinoide company indicating the name of the decoration. The blueish gray tone is very typical of the period. Note however that there is a version of this decoration in shades of red. The service includes 45 pieces: 1 large soup tureen (diameter 28.5 cm, height 26 cm) 2 deep dishes, large and medium (27.4 cm and 26.3 cm) 1 serving dish (26.8 cm) 1 large salad bowl (25.3 cm) 1 compotier (23.3 cm, 6.3 cm high) 25 flat plates, 21.6 cm on average but up to 22.5 cm, the production being very artisanal 6 larger flat plates (23.3 to 23.8 cm) 5 half-deep plates (22.2 cm) 3 rare deep plates (20.7 cm and 4.2 cm high) Do not hesitate! It is rare to find so many pieces of this magnificent service. It will be admired by your guests!
