Chalice and its paten in gilded silver from the beginning of the 20th century, the chalice was made around 1930 by the Lyon goldsmith Henry Nesme.** Embossed and chiseled silver. The foot is circular, with a slight projection, decorated with floral friezes: one is chiseled on the edge of the foot and the other is executed in high relief in the middle of the terrace. A small enameled Greek cross is screwed between these two ornaments. The tubular stem has a collar and a flattened ball knot with channels. It supports a half-spherical cup as well as a false cup decorated with the same ornament as the base. The foot is fitted with a bronze disc. Romanesque style. The gilded paten that accompanies the chalice is of older manufacture, decorated with guilloche patterns and engraved with a cross pattée. Silver Minerva hallmark 800/1000 for the cup of the chalice and silver 950/1000 for the foot and the paten. It is in perfect condition, without shocks or scratches, with a slight loss of gilding on the base of the chalice and on one of the surfaces of the paten. **The Nesme family dynasty is representative of Lyon goldsmithing in the 18th and 19th centuries, particularly in the field of religious goldsmithing. The Nesmes continued their activities from 1715 until 1963.
