"The Jockey By Gaston Prunier (1863-1927)"
Oil on cardboard early 20th century, representing the portrait of a jockey. Painting signed lower right "G.Prunier". Gaston PRUNIER (1863-1927) was a painter, watercolourist, pastellist, decorator. He was a student of Lhuillier in Le Havre. He settled in Paris in 1887. He began exhibiting in Paris in 1899 at Bing, then appeared in Paris, at the Société Nationale des Beaux-Arts in 1901 and, in 1902. He became a member of this salon in 1903. Several of his works can be found in museums, notably Le Havre, his hometown. Good general condition, there is nevertheless a small restoration to be expected. Modern frame.
