This impressive pair of brass pricket candlesticks were cast in separate parts, turned and joined together. On a circular base, with characteristic multi-baluster stem, circular drip pan and ending in a larger pricket.
The shape of these candlesticks is typical for the Baroque period suggesting a date in the first quarter of the 17th Century.
They were most likely cast in the Netherlands known for its brass foundries during the 16th and 17th Centuries.
