Object description :

"Cane From The Ludwigsburg Manufactory Dated To Around 1770 Depicting A Bust Of A Woman"
Exceptional cane in polychrome porcelain from the Ludwigsburg factory representing a WOMAN IN BUST.

Ring made of 22 carat gold with multiple hallmarks (charge hallmark, jury hallmark, goldsmith's hallmark and discharge hallmark).

Shaft in blond Malacca wood, passage of gold strap. Long brass ferule with steel heel.

Note: The Ludwigsburg factory has the name of its place and was founded north of Stuttgard in 1758 by Karl Eugen, duke of Württemberg. It developed its own style, adapting to others: rococo, then neo-classical and Empire. The best period of creation is between 1760 and 1785 under the control of the chief designer Gottlieb Friedrich Riedel who worked in Meissen, Hôchst and Frankenthal. The designer Johann Christian Wilhelm Beyer, with his animal designs and cane handles, had a strong influence on the Ludwigsburg style. This factory, responding to the duke's taste for luxury, created a huge number of objects.

Dimensions: length of the handle 7,5 cm x  height of the ring 1,3 cm x length of the ferrule 8,2 cm. Total length of the cane 111,4 cm.

Germany circa 1770/1780.
