French painter, watercolorist, pastellist, engraver, and collector, Ernest Rouart is one of the four sons of Henri Rouart, and the husband of Julie Manet, the daughter of Berthe Morisot and Eugène Manet. He was above all a student of Degas and exhibited at the Sociéte nationale des Beaux-Arts, at the Salon du Champ-de-Mars, at the Indépendants.
