"Nicolas Eustache Maurin, Clemence Of Hernan Cortés To Montezuma. Mexico."
Pair of sepia watercolors, black pencil and gouache. They are attributed to Nicolas Eustache Maurin born in 1798 and the son of Pierre Morin and brother of Antoine Morin, both painters. Nicolas Eustache Maurin was a student of Henri Regnault and exhibited at the salons of 1833, 1834 and 1835. Our two works do not have visible signatures but correspond to the artist's abundant engraved work kept in different museums of Spain and the United States.
