Our table presents 11 medals that reward the Trapadoux silk factory in Lyon, once the capital of silk. The company founded in 1868 by the brothers Alphonse and Louis Trapadoux, is specialized in the manufacture and sale of clothing, silk, velvet, fabrics, scarves, unbleached or printed. Silks enter the Universal and Maritime exhibitions as a French prestige product. The excellence of Lyon's work is quickly recognized as evidenced by this medal table from the great Trapadoux Frères house; medalist in London in 1862, Paris in 1867 then Vienna Le Havre, Philadelphia.
Our medal table offers 5 x 2 medals (front and back) in bronze, silver bronze and gilded bronze engraved by Trotin, Wyon, Tautenhayn, Ponscarme, Hamel. In the upper part we find the gilded bronze coat of arms of the city of Lyon composed of a climbing lion and 3 fleurs-de-lys. This medal table is produced by the Hugede house in Paris with gilded inscriptions and inlaid in the velvet and decorated with the prizes / awards. Glass frame (original glass slightly bubbled), oval, Napoleon III style. Very good condition.
