"The Painter's Roses"
They are called Centifolia Roses, the painters' rose, the cabbage rose or even the Provence rose. This variety of rose is known for its many petals and is found in many paintings throughout the centuries. This painting is unfinished but the roses are very well treated here with a relief that gives them the impression of coming out of the frame. Oil on panel early 20th century. With frame: 46x54 cm. Without frame: 38x46 cm
