"12 Piece Dinner Service - Linen Damask Floral Decor - Jb Monogram - Late 19th Century"
Table service (late 19th century), consisting of a large tablecloth matched with twelve napkins. Floral decoration with large medallion in the center of the tablecloth and napkins in which the initials J-B are embroidered. White embroidery executed with precision in satin stitch, cord stitch and sand stitch. Work of an experienced embroiderer. Textile with preserved hold, density and fluidity and whose marked damask vibrates under the light displaying flowers, seedlings, cartridge surrounded by flowers tied with a ribbon reminiscent of 18th century ornaments. All the borders are highlighted with a large frieze with symmetrical decoration.
Condition: This dinner service is beautifully made and in excellent condition. Only two towels have slight (very light) storage sheen that fades a lot on first wash, as well as three really very subtle brown peaks (see photos). Old visible off-white linen, washed and ironed.
