BRASS COLANDER in the shape of a pierced cap with rolled edge on stiffener and slightly truncated tubular handle.
Control hallmark with crowned R.
Trace of master coppersmith's hallmark.
Diameter: 27 cm.Length: 40 cm.
NORMANDY (?), mid-18th century

Control or master hallmarks affixed to copperware are very rare to find. This hallmark with crowned R dates the objects that bear it from the mid-18th century.
Very good condition.
