Ariichi Yamahata, born in Hiraoka, Osaka Prefecture. After graduating from the ceramics department of the Osaka school, he studied in Tokyo with Uichiro Ogura (student of Rodin). From 1928, he was selected and regularly awarded prizes. After the war, he was a nitten judge (academy of Fine Arts). He was also a member of the Japan Sculpture Society and the Japan Ceramic Sculpture Society. He produced many nudes and figures of children. His style is westernized, due to his master Ogura. Weight 14.5 hg - Bronze with brown patina with antique green highlights. An illustrated note on the sculptor will be given to the purchaser.
