"Isfahan Carpet, "gholestan - Rose Garden" (iran), Circa 1965"
Isfahan carpet, dated 1965, in silky lambswool velvet on silk foundations (warps, weft and fringes). The exceptional density of 10,000 knots per dm² underlines the remarkable finesse of this piece. Its vivid polychromy depicts a scene of village life: a mother breastfeeding her child, a woman combing her hair under a nomad tent, and a dancer surrounded by two finely drawn musicians. Animals (horse, goat, sheep) and flowering trees of life frame this scene. The carpet has a triple border, the main one, beige, adorns animal motifs (deer, stags) reminiscent of hunting scenes. Inscribed "Iran-Isfahan-Gholestan: Garden of Roses", this unique carpet, combining poetry and rarity, can be hung like a painting. Measures: 141 x 105 cm
