Johan Jacob HOCH Mainz, 1750 - Mainz, 1829 Pencil drawing 34 x 22 cm (50 x 41 cm with frame) Signed and dated lower left "Johann Jacob Hoch / July 1778" Pitch pine frame with black fillets Very finished study without doiute for a church decoration with several scenes from the lives of saints. Johan Jacob Hoch worked as a draftsman for religious subjects probably for the creation of church decorations. His drawings are notably preserved in the Cabinet dessins of the National Museum of Mainz in Germany.
