Sculpture of a seated Buddha in fluorite quartz, from the 20th century. This sculpture offers beautiful stone work with beautiful shades of purple and green colors. The Buddha is represented in a particular meditation position, often associated with the "Varada Mudra" (gesture of giving or compassion). The Buddha's right hand is placed on his right leg, palm down. This gesture is generally interpreted as a sign of connection to the earth or giving of compassion.
