A manufacture of the 19th could of course be considered, but it seems unlikely to me because it would not be in the taste of the fanciful manufactures of the Second Empire.
BLADE: It is a 2-edged blade, of diamond-shaped section. On the first 9 centimeters, there is a thin median groove on each side. Blade length = 32.3 cm, width near the guard = 3.6 cm, thickness near the guard = 4.2 mm
GUARD: It has 2 flat quillons curved towards the blade. The guard is engraved with a plant decoration in the style of the friezes of certain German swords of the 16th century.
POMMEL: it is of rounded trapezoidal shape. It is engraved with plants in the same style. The tang of the blade is riveted on the pommel. The riveting is old.
GRIP it is made of wood covered with leather, with a central ring. the leather is hardened by time.
The shape of this dagger is interesting, since its relationship with the cinquedeas is obvious. Although it is later (probably 2nd half of the 16th century), it remains interesting and at a price which represents only a fraction of that of a Cinquedea 15th.
Although a 19th century manufacture seems unlikely to me, I put this dagger at the price of a 19th century to avoid any controversy. And I guarantee at least this dating, even if it is an excess of caution.
