Earthenware planter with ovoid body on heel Decorated with a frieze of stylized flowers enhanced with polychrome enamels.

Jérôme MASSIER (1850-1926) Signed and located on the side and under the base.

Diameter 31 cm

The Massier family founded one of the first terracotta factories in the city of Vallauris in the 17th century. Beyond the French Revolution, Clément (1844-1917), Delphin (1836-1907) and Jérôme Massier (1820-1909) were the first to use glossy enamels in ceramics.
