"Small Rosewood Armchair, Restoration Period – Early 19th Century"
This small armchair has a thin belt resting at the front on turned rosewood legs highlighted with lemonwood fillet and ending with small brass casters. The recessed upper part has turned elements supporting animated armrests with light rosewood cuffs. These armrests join a straight openwork back decorated with lemonwood marquetry on a rosewood background decorated with a vase, soup tureen, scrolls and also embellished with fillets. The strap and spring seat is dressed, like the back and the cuffs, in a blue fabric redone with slightly aged nails. This armchair with warm lines will bring comfort and style through the contrast of its species and its size. ******** Period: Early 19th century Excellent condition.
