"Solid Mahogany Scribanne Chest Of Drawers, Georgian Period, England – 18th Century"
Superb English Scribanne Commode, made during the Georgian period in the 18th century. This high-quality solid mahogany secretaire has two drawers in the belt that lock with a key and swing handles. In the lower part we observe three large drawers of different heights. Their fronts are fitted with a bead around their perimeter. In the center of each drawer, we find a diamond-shaped entrance. The locks in working order are accompanied by their key. Pull handles finish off these drawers. This Scriban Commode has a mitered flap in the upper part, the center of which is formed by a single panel. The lock on the flap is in working order. It is held in its horizontal position by two pulls. The interior part in solid mahogany has several niches and drawers, with wooden knobs, arranged in a stepped manner. The sides and bottoms of the drawers, assembled with dovetails, are in oak, as is the bottom of the piece of furniture. Please note that this piece of furniture has dust covers between the drawers. A true testament to the expertise of 18th century cabinetmakers, this scriban chest of drawers will charm you with the warm hue of its mahogany wood. ******** Period: 18th century Excellent interior and exterior condition after restoration in our workshop.
