"Black Hardwood Medallion Representing Napoleon II In Profile In Relief, Second Empire Period "
A historical souvenir not very common this medallion representing this young Napoleon II. Made of hardened wood, an amalgam of sawdust, ox blood and shellac among other things. Pressed under very high tension. This is the same process and material as for the production of black photo frames from the same period of which you will also find some examples in my gallery. Dating from the 19th century and made in Sezanne whose factory burned down completely at the beginning of the 20th century, thus putting an end to its activity.
