Description: A marvelous and refined oil painting on canvas, signed and dated *E. Fenzl 1906*. Originating from Trieste, this painting is a characteristic example of late 19th-century realistic art with clear references to classical Renaissance masterpieces, such as Titian's famous "Venus". The composition focuses on a nude female figure, reclining on a soft white fur bed, wrapped in a rich red drapery that creates a strong contrast with the lush green landscape in the background.
The painter's technical skill is evident in the accurate rendering of the skin tone, treated with a realistic delicacy that highlights the artist’s ability to depict the human figure with soft shading and tonal transitions. The vibrant red drapery against the natural green further accentuates the model’s body, emphasizing her luminous, smooth skin.
The frame, of 19th-century craftsmanship, is older than the painting itself, adding a touch of historical elegance to the piece. The painting is signed in the lower left corner and bears the date "1906".
