"Paris 1787, Ewer And Its Basin, Jean-pierre Charpenat, Solid Silver"
Sumptuous ewer with its basin from the Louis XVI period in solid silver. Hallmarks of Paris for the year 1787 and master goldsmith's mark of Jean-Pierre Charpenat on the lid, on the bottom of the ewer and on the bottom of the basin. This goldsmith had acquired a certain renown for these beautiful ewers and their basins because he produced at least one for Queen Marie-Antoinette. The set is now exhibited at the Louvre Museum. The pieces are of high quality and in excellent condition. The set is rather heavy for its size (1700grs).
