"19th Century Bohemian Glass Jewelry Box Japanese Scene White Enamel In Relief"
This impressive box in black glittery Bohemian glass or crystal is enameled in relief on the lid with a Japanese-style decoration representing a woman in a ceremonial kimono charming a bird in a naturalistic decoration of flowers and ferns.
The entire body of the box is decorated with raised dots in white enamel.
Around the edge, a frieze of Greek and another of palmettes. The hinged lid with clasp is circled in brass, it rests in a brass mount with lion's feet.
The black glass is opaque, finely included in silver powder.
The Japanese-style scene is treated in relief with a gradient effect of thickness.
