Oil painting on panel from the late 19th century dated 1889 by Loir Luigi. Very interesting painting of high quality representing a pier animated by many characters on the Seine. Signed and dated lower right 1889. The works of this great artist are rare on the market and are more valuable when the animated subject represents a Parisian view. Loir Luigi, 1845-1916 was a great painter specializing in genre scenes who studied at the Parma School of Fine Arts and who participated in the Salon des Artistes Français in 1886 and 1889 where he won a gold medal. His works are present in the museums of Bordeaux, Marseille and the Carnavalet Museum. Many works are present in museums in Canada, USA, Russia.
