"Scriban Italy 18th Century Inlaid Walnut And Venetian Mirror"
Charming piece of furniture, probably from a Venetian workshop of the 18th century, entirely inlaid with walnut and maple fillets, the dynamic is given by this grain wood which alternates with parts of burled walnut. The cornice is in end grain and covers a pediment in the shape of a gendarme's hat, in the center of which is inlaid a floral motif, topped with a man and a coat of arms. Three functions are combined for this charming piece of furniture, a curved chest of drawers in the lower part, a secretary in the center, revealing a layout of small drawers, a library cabinet in the upper part, the door of which is glazed with a mirror engraved with fillets and scrolls, one of the specialties of Venice. A small pull tab is inserted at the base of the upper body, this shelf was intended to present one of the collector's items, sculpture, or vase ..., which had to be stored in this cabinet. The whole rests on a base with small curved feet and scalloped crosspieces sculpted with volutes. Beautiful original bronze handles. Beautiful collector's piece of furniture, rare for its small width, it will complement both a classic interior and a contemporary atmosphere. Italy 18th century period. Personalized delivery on quote.
