Biography Sculptor, chaser, master goldsmith, Joé Descomps is a student of Louis-Auguste Hiolin and Alexandre Falguière1. He is present at the Chicago exhibition in 1893. He works with Frédéric Boucheron. Member of the French Artists Association since 1883 and exhibited at the Salon des artistes français from 1891 to 1937; mention in 1898, third medal in 1921, second in 1925, first in 1928. In 1911, a small terracotta statuette signed by him was offered to subscribers to Félix Juven's publications. He was named a knight of the Legion of Honor by decree of April 3, 1929. His studio was located in La Charité-sur-Loire.
