SWITZERLAND, Canton of Bern, grenadier sabre, Louis XVI period, 18th century. Brass mount with three-branched guard, thumb piece and tail-length cap. Filigree fuse, quillon curved towards the blade at the end. Curved blade with dorsal fuller and flat back with 1 edge and pointed counter-edge of 15 cm. Blade engraved on both sides with a Bear. Leather scabbard with two brass fittings including a small sphere dart and button on the rivet.
