Charles Kvapil, born in 1884 in  Varnsdorf  Tchécoslovaquie and dead in Paris in 1958, is a renowned painter and illustrator, recognized for his unique style mixing impressionist and post-impressionist influences. Trained at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Brussels, he stands out for his vibrant landscapes and intimate portraits. Kwapil was also an active member of various artistic movements, participating in major exhibitions in Belgium and abroad. His works, often marked by a rich palette and play of light, reflect a deep sensitivity to nature and the human condition. He exhibited during his lifetime in Paris, Brussels, Stockholm, Munich, Geneva, London and New York. His works are present in many museums, including the Museum of Modern Art in Paris, the Museum of Le Havre, Rouen, Saint-Etienne, Amsterdam ..
