Beautiful and precious cabinetmaking work for this "tomb" shaped work box veneered with rosewood inlaid with fine boxwood fillets and decorated with beautiful work of guilloché solid rosewood moldings. The top forming a leaf opens and reveals a mirror surrounded by finely guilloché glazing beads, a removable compartment in solid sycamore and small rosewood strips is placed in the bottom, once this compartment is removed we discover a last housing in the bottom of the box. The removable compartment finely mounted with dovetails is composed of small partitions delimiting compartments as well as 3 small lids including one with a cushion for pins. These solid sycamore lids are inlaid with black, red, green, yellow and white stained wood fillets forming chevrons, each lid is fitted with small turned rosewood buttons. Original lock (without key) and hinges, brass thread lock entry. Beautiful quality object dating from the end of the Charles X years around 1830 in perfect condition.
