A most elegant living room piece of furniture, this 3-drawer piece of furniture called a "chiffonnière" is drum-shaped, with its arched legs enhanced with pretty chiseled and gilded bronzes as well as its marquetry decorations with flower motifs and the attributes of the gardener (shovel and rake) and marriage (dove kissing), it is a work of Transition Louis XV, Louis XVI style executed in the 19th century. Belonging to the family of flying furniture, this living room table is marquetry on all sides allowing it to be placed at any point. The cabinetmaker who made this charming piece of furniture used precious wood veneers such as rosewood and satinwood as well as local woods such as sycamore and alder. The bronze ornamentation is of very good quality and typically Parisian, it takes up the bronze models used in the 18th century by Parisian cabinetmakers in the years 1765-75, in particular the foot descents and the lion's paw slippers.
