""young Slave" Fortini"
This polychrome terracotta sculpture is signed intaglio on the terrace and bears the MOYNET MABILAT stamp as well as the number 1032. This model created in 1912 by the Italian sculptor Edoardo FORTINI (born in 1862) was reissued in the 1930s/40s by the Isle Adam factory. It is in very good condition and the original patina has retained all its brilliance. Bibliography Stéphane Richemont "Orientalist and Africanist terracotta from 1860 to 1940". The model is reproduced on page 138.
