"Louis XVI Period Secretary Stamped J.viez"
Louis XVI 18th century secretary in Cuban mahogany and veneer covered with a gray Saint Anne marble from the period highlighted by a groove on its perimeter and raised corners following the shape of the piece of furniture. In the upper part, a belt drawer with two bronze pull handles. In the central part, a flap 76 cm from the open ground, supported by brass compasses which makes it very solid for writing on old Havana-colored leather with gold binding. This flap reveals a very refined interior (theater) with 3 large lockers and 7 mahogany drawers. Finally, two doors in the lower part open onto a large mahogany drawer with a very beautiful clover lock entry framed by brass molding. The front and rear raised uprights are highlighted with a double ebony and brass fillet. The whole of this secretary as well as the interiors are very richly decorated with bronzes of very beautiful quality, central medallion representing a young woman dressed in antique style offering an offering to love with fidelity, wealth and prosperity floral falls attached by ribbons typically Louis XVI all underlined by frames of brass moldings. It rests on 4 sheathed feet decorated with a double ebony and brass net with bronze falls and ending with brass sabots. Structure of this piece of furniture entirely in oak as well as all the drawers. The 4 locks are clover with 2 keys in perfect working order. Secretary in perfect condition, revarnished with a stamp and bearing the J.VIEZ stamp on the left rear upright under the marble.
