A Virgin and Child sits enthroned in the center of this gilded and polychromed wooden altarpiece. It overlooks an important ex-ossibus relic in a bag. This is a clavicle of Saint Prosper, a relic authenticated by a wax seal placed on the back of this piece. The altarpiece is surmounted by a pediment with a representation of the Sacred Heart.
An elegant and interesting Italian work from the 18th century.
